Harumi, Japanese Lay Missionary

Last week Harumi Machida, a Japanese lay missionary came to stay with our community in Arvaiheer. She is a vibrant, friendly and intelligent young woman who would like to help with the various projects in our mission. She was officially introduced to our parish members at the end of last Sunday's Mass.

She gave the following testimony:

"Hello! My name is Harumi. My Christian name is Clara.  I come from Japan. I am a 26 year old lay missionary belonging to the “Japan Lay Missionary Movement”.  I am a pre-school teacher by profession.  Our group policy is to “live together”.  I enjoy this style of work.  Our group has other missionaries working in Cambodia, East Timor and Mongolia.  Our organization has 8 lay missionaries, 3 office workers and head supervisor.  I arrived in Mongolia this past April. I spent the first 6 months studying the language. I am currently discerning as to whether I will work as a temporary volunteer with the Consolata Missionary priests and sisters in their mission in Arvaiheer. Thank you."

We pray that her experience will be very fruitful. The children have already taken a liking to her!
